Though We were not able to attend, many Skraels made the trek out to Fruits of Our Labour, to fulfill Our taxes of 'teach and learn'. We were informed much fun was had by all, sharing both knowledge and song with Our good neighbours.
This Spring We have had the pleasure of attending Crown Tournament in the Shire of Bastille du Lac. Crown is always a very exciting event, and this one was no different. It was wonderful and inspiring to see so many Skraels participating in the tournament. By Our count, 10 of the 24 participants were from Skraeling Althing. What am amazing showing! After many a hard fought bout, Graf Siegfried Brandbeorn was the victor. Many congratulations to Their Royal Highnesses Siegfried and Xristina. It's been a long time since any of the Royal Family have been from Skrael, and I'm sure you all are as excited as We are to support one of Our own.
This past weekend, His Excellency travelled to the border lands of Petrea Thule, spending a lovely afternoon under the trees in Their Majesties Presence. It was a fun filled day with many tournaments, lots of good friends and some wonderful food. The evening's feast was assembled by the ducklings, of which Alana the Quiet, Lydia, and Saraphina the Quick were all members. Alas, His Excellency could not stay for it, but he heard through many sources that it was a wonderful feast and they did an amazing job. Their Excellencies of Septentria awarded each of them the Award of the Bear's Cub for their contribution to Septentria.
In court, Their Majesties awarded His Excellency the Award of the Orion for his brewing. Truly a wonderful honour, for which he was humbled. The true highlight of the event was that The Honourable Lady Alais de Poitiers was asked to stand Vigil to consider admission to the Order of the Laurel!! We hope she accepts this great honour, as We are constantly amazed and astounded by the quality of the work she does, and the humility with which she performs it with. Wassail!!
As you are all aware Murder Melee fast approaches. His Excellency is looking forward to fielding a melee team this year. As a reminder, any authorized fighter that wishes to fight in the Baronial melee team is welcome. Please contact his Excellency if you would like to participate. As a reminder, last year We accepted the Great Bacon Melee Challenge from Lord Yamamoto Morikazu of Clan Okami. What does this mean? It means the Barony will attempt to field as many new armoured combatants on the field at this coming Murder Melee, fully
kitted out in their own armour and authorized. For every new fighter more that we can provide than they do, they will pay the Barony one pound of bacon, at a to be determined later date. And on that note, We cordially invite the Barony to a Baronial Bacon Fry-Up at this later date. Come enjoy the spoils of war! Of course, that's assuming we can muster our new fighters at Melee. Otherwise the Baronial Bacon Fry-Up will be a very sad event, as there will be no bacon.
